Cumbrian Discoveries was established in 1987 and has since built a reputation for high quality personalised tours in Cumbria (including the Lake District National Park) and the north of England. We offer sightseeing tours (by coach or mini-bus), driver-guiding tours, walking tours, services to business and training and consultancy services. See "tours and services".

We have many years experience operating in Cumbria and with the local contacts built up over these years we are able to include special and unusual visits in our itineraries. We can arrange for your group to meet local people, take tea with the owner of an historic home, enjoy a hands-on traditional baking experience, meet a local craftsman - anything is possible.

For our guiding expertise we use the services of select Blue Badge qualified guides (the only national tourist guide qualification) offering a variety of languages to give a comprehensive guiding service. We can work with groups of any number.

Nicky Godfrey-Evans

Nicky is a Blue Badge Guide for Cumbria, North East England and London and is a nationally recognized guide trainer. She has directed a number of Blue Badge Guide courses. Nicky was made a Life Fellow of the Guild of Registered Tourist Guides in 2001 and received the prestigious "Ambassador to Tourism" award from the Cumbria Tourist Board in February 2006

Richard Hyde

Richard is a Blue Badge Guide for Cumbria and North East England and is experienced in leading all types of tours throughout the north of England. Over the years he has earned a reputation for being a much sought after and respected study leader for alumni and museum tours.
